Trying to capture moments

It’s that busy time of year. Who am I kidding? I say that all the time. June is the new December. Back-to-school shopping is more hectic than Christmas shopping. It’s all busy…or at least we make it busy. But during this time of year instead of running to and fro in my dreaded Honda Odyssey with my head filled with a mighty to do list, I try to be filled with intent and a little extra joy. Does it happen? Not always and sometimes it feels like not at all. But over the last few years, I’ve tried to shift my focus to the season and not just the actual day of Christmas. We have two weeks off and I consider them all a holiday. And like any holiday they are filled with squabbles, knock down sibling fights, and tons of laughter. Here are a few(or way more than a few)of our pictures from the beginning of this holiday season…

  1. Those are some lovely photos!

I haven’t been able to really get into the holiday season yet – because I’m too busy working and trying to get this new position down pat. Four days…I’ll be ready to get into the holiday spirit. My mom will be here for two weeks; I’ll be off for two weeks; I’ll get to spend time with family and friends. I can’t wait…the least of which will be the opportunity to get my camera out and capture some memories of my own. ;)
