Summer Reading

Books…they’re my lifeline when things get hectic. They calm me. Inspire me. They always stretch my mind. In recent days, several friends have asked for recommendations. So I thought I’d share what’s on my reading list this summer.

Luckiest Girl Alive…Finished it. Definite page turner that I didn’t want to end because I really wanted to know where the characters were now. Easy and entertaining summer read.

In the Unlikely Event…I adore Judy Blume. Reading this book was like visiting with an old friend from my childhood. The familiar cadence of Blume’s prose made me smile and reminded me of the first time I discovered my love of words and the ability they had to make me feel less alone as I traversed the roads of adolescence. Great story…

The Geography of You and Me…I’m a sucker for a good YA book. This one was good but if you are craving some YA start with the books by Stephanie Perkins. Love those.

The Royal We…I am obsessed with the Royals so this was a no-brainer for me. I hung on every word but not to be a spoiler but there’s a cliffhanger and I’m not a fan of a cliffhanger.

I just started The Folded Clock and will keep you posted as I progress.

A couple of things in my TBR pile…
Among the Ten Thousand Things by Julia Pierpont
My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante (Keep hearing amazing things about this one!)
Better Than Before by Gretchen Rubin
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

What’s on your list?
