Peter and Heather do Halloween

Because their relationship moved so quickly, Heather still had many new things to learn about Peter. Somehow he managed to keep his penchant for Halloween bottled up until they were together for slightly less than a year. Had she realized what a maniac he was about the holiday at another point in their relationship, things may have been different. It all started around Labor Day when the first signs of Halloween stores popped up in empty storefronts. Peter took a cursory visit to each store to inspect the new merchandise. The first time Heather and the kids went with him … Read more…

Big Day

Publishing my first book on my own was a monumental accomplishment for me. My journey through the world of self publishing was filled with excitement and a steep learning curve. But I’m over-the-moon that I’ve taken the next steps on this road and signed with a publisher, Booktrope. This week Booktrope re-released Tripped Up Love. It has a fresh new look inside and out. You can buy it on Amazon, iTunes, Barnes and Noble. And you know what? Since book one is re-released and book two is about to be re-released…that means book three is very close to being in your … Read more…

Tripped Up New Year’s Eve

****Only read after The New Ever After.  This contains some indirect spoilers!**** Three years ago, Peter had been in NYC with a date his agent had set him up with. He couldn’t remember her name but he did remember her pout after he refused her invitation to come to her place. He sent her home with his driver and he walked the 32 blocks to his apartment to clear his mind. He remembered, so clearly, the unsettled feeling he had that night. He was about to turn forty and was having a mid-life crisis of sorts. He had thrown himself … Read more…

My Self Publishing Tips

A little over a year ago, I began my first (published) novel, Tripped Up Love.  I published it in May and published the sequel, The New Ever After, in August. To say it has been a wild ride would be the understatement of the century. In this season of gratitude, I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am to all the readers I’ve met in person and virtually and all the people that have made this journey a success in my eyes. The first thing I did after writing my book was start a small press with my … Read more…

Do you Nano?

November is an amazing and heartbreaking month for me for so many reasons. It’s a month filled with food, family and love. November looks yellow and sounds crispy. November is a month where my dreams are born and the month that I lost my dad. It’s a story I’ve told before and you can find it well documented on my blog. Three years ago on November 29th, my dad died. I can recall everything I did during November 2010. I remember the painful decision to call in hospice. I remember driving up to D.C. with my brother to make sure … Read more…

Touring

Both of my books, Tripped Up Love and The New Ever After, are on tour across the internet. They are visiting different bloggers around the world. In most cases I have written a post for the different bloggers and many have read and reviewed my books. It is a great opportunity for me and for other authors. I am so grateful to the fabulous women who have spent so many hours organizing these tours. Stop by the different sites and show them some love! Tripped Up Love is on tour with Chick Lit Plus. My tour dates are listed on … Read more…

I live to ride…kind of

I hate roller coasters. I can’t stand that feeling of anticipation before the big drop. You know that moment when you’re teetering on the edge of the drop and you have no idea what’s ahead of you? And then you drop and for a moment you’re not sure if anything will catch you or if you’ll keep falling. I’m not even a fan of the Elmo Coaster because honestly, it’s so short it just makes me dizzy. But today, on the twelfth of August, I feel like I’m on a ride. I made myself get on this big coaster called … Read more…
